UMA is seeking to employ qualified and experienced persons to fill the following position: Jumbo Operator

JUMBO OPERATOR POSITION
Safely and efficiently operates underground Jumbo drilling equipment to achieve planned development and production targets. Ensure accurate drilling and ground-support activities in accordance with Mine plans, safety standards and operational requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Accurately drill drive patterns using a mechanised hydraulic electric jumbo drill to suit conditions of the drive.
Assess ground conditions at the face and implement ground control according to site requirements.
Ability to set up laser and mark-up development face per mining instruction.
Read and accurately follow mine instruction plans with skill and precision ensuring holes are drilled to design grade line, gradient and profile.
Ability to Jumbo scale, cable bolt, Gewis, install split sets, bore and mesh when directed.
Communicate with surveyors, geologists, and engineers to optimize drill patterns and meters.
Carry out underground development and production works inclusive of stripping, ground support and mining tasks as directed.
Ability to interpret drill plans, drill holes and align equipment according to ground conditions.
Comply with all applicable mining regulations, site standards, operating procedures and instructions relating to underground drilling and ground control.
Desired Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Minimum of a High School Certificate or equivalent.
Certificate or relevant coursework in Mining, Engineering, or a related technical field will be an advantage.
Minimum of five (5) years' underground Jumbo drilling experience, including face drilling and ground-support activities such as stripping and installation.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in safe and efficient underground mining and Jumbo operations.
Valid Ghanaian Driving and Operating Licences (Classes C and E), with the ability to operate/driving an SUV underground.
Valid Jumbo Operator's Certification from the Minerals Commission.
Valid Blasting Competency Certificate from the Minerals Commission.
Previous experience in underground mining, construction, or heavy equipment operation will be an advantage.
Willingness and ability to work underground on a roster basis.
Ability to work effectively under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, Mine Captain, or Mine Foreman.
