Underground Mining Alliance (“UMA”) is a Joint Venture between African Underground Mining Services Limited (AUMS) and Rocksure International carrying out underground development and production works for the Newmont Underground Ahafo South Mine at Kenyasi.
As part of UMA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the company is partnering with Sandvik to recruit and train National Service Personnel/Graduates in the fields of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical & Electronic Engineering.

Position: National Service Personnel Possessing the following bachelor’s degree:
HND/BSc. Mechanical Engineering
HND/BSc. Electrical & Electronic Engineering
Position Summary
This is a National Service program that combines both on-site practical exposure at UMA (Kenyasi) and off-site technical training at Sandvik (Kumasi). It is designed to offer fresh graduates valuable hands-on experience in underground mechanized mining and prepare them for careers in the mining and heavy engineering industries.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
As National Service Personnel in this program, you will be expected to:
Participate actively in hands-on training under the supervision of experienced technicians and engineers
Observe and assist with routine maintenance and servicing of underground mining equipment
Support daily operations while learning industry safety and technical standards
Attend classroom and on-the-job training sessions organized by UMA and Sandvik
Keep detailed notes and reports as part of your learning process
Show a willingness to learn, ask questions, and seek feedback
Adhere to all company safety, health, and environmental policies
Desired Skills, Educational Qualification & Experience
Applicants must:
Must have completed tertiary education and be eligible for 2026/2027 National Service
HND or BSc. in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical & Electronic Engineering
Strong understanding of mechanical or electrical systems
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Strong teamwork and communication skills
High awareness of workplace safety and discipline
Selection Process
Eligible candidates will be selected after going through the Sandvik Auto Electrohydraulic Assessment, Competency-based Interview, Evaluation on behavioral traits, cultural fit, and learning and technical capability.
