Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Supervisor – Cutting & Edging to oversee the daily operations of our modern, well-equipped wood cutting and edging production facility.

The successful candidate should have strong experience in woodworking, cabinetry, furniture manufacturing, or a similar carpentry-related environment. This role requires a hands-on leader with proven supervisory experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage production schedules, quality standards, safety, and team performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the daily operations of the cutting and edging production unit.

• Lead, coach, train, and evaluate production employees to maximize productivity and performance.

• Monitor production schedules and ensure jobs are completed accurately and on time.

• Track hourly production output and document operational issues, delays, and corrective actions.

• Enforce quality control standards by:

  • Ensuring cutting blades and tooling are maintained in optimal condition.

  • Verifying cutting lists before production begins.

  • Confirming that boards supplied from the warehouse are free from defects.

• Ensure strict compliance with workplace health and safety policies and procedures.

• Coordinate effectively with Sales, Branch Managers, Inventory, Warehouse, and Stock Control teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely customer deliveries.

• Analyze cutting and edging processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.

• Manage Work-in-Process (WIP) inventory to ensure materials are available in the right quantity, at the right place, and at the right time.

• Review sales orders and standardize work documentation to ensure customer specifications are clearly understood and executed.

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all cutting and edging equipment.

• Ensure all machinery is kept clean, properly lubricated, and maintained according to manufacturer recommendations.

• Ensure all cutting and edging machines are properly maintained, serviced according to schedule, and operating at optimal efficiency to minimize downtime and support uninterrupted production.

Qualifications

• HND or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Wood Technology, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 years' supervisory experience in woodworking, cabinet making, furniture manufacturing, wood finishing, or a related production environment.

• Practical experience operating or supervising commercial cutting and edging machines.

• Demonstrated ability to achieve operational and financial targets while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
