Role Summary
To provide high-quality Psychology education to secondary and sixth form students, following the Cambridge International Curriculum (IGCSE & A Level). The successful candidate will develop students' understanding of human behaviour, cognitive processes, psychological theories, and research methods while fostering critical thinking, analytical skills, and scientific inquiry to prepare them for Cambridge assessments and higher education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Psychology lessons aligned with the Cambridge International Curriculum (IGCSE & A Level).

  • Prepare students to excel in Cambridge examinations through effective teaching strategies, practice assessments, and targeted revision sessions.

  • Design lessons that encourage critical thinking, analysis, evaluation, and the application of psychological theories and research to real-life situations.

  • Teach key areas of Psychology, including cognitive, biological, social, learning, developmental, and abnormal psychology, as outlined in the Cambridge syllabus.

  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate diverse learning needs and abilities.

  • Maintain an inclusive, supportive, and well-managed classroom environment.

  • Assess, monitor, and provide constructive feedback on students' academic progress.

  • Encourage students to develop strong research, observation, analytical, and essay-writing skills.

  • Stay updated on current developments in Psychology and integrate relevant contemporary research and case studies into teaching.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to promote interdisciplinary learning.

  • Lead or support Psychology-related enrichment activities, research projects, academic competitions, and student clubs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field.

  • A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent) is preferred.

  • Experience teaching the Cambridge International Curriculum (IGCSE & A Level) is highly desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of Psychology and the ability to explain concepts clearly and effectively.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.

  • Passionate about Psychology education, with a commitment to developing students' critical thinking, analytical skills, and understanding of human behaviour.
