Responsible for safely and efficiently operating shotcrete equipment to apply shotcrete for ground support in accordance with approved designs and site standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for applying shotcrete at a specified thickness, quality and according to the procedures and design of the job.
Experience in Batching, mixing, transporting, applying, finishing, testing and cleaning- up shotcrete materials.
Must be familiar with the different methods of shotcrete application and appropriate use of a method for a particular design, surface or function.
Conduct preconstruction field trials of shotcrete production and application prior to starting production shotcreting.
Applies shotcrete mixture as approved by engineer or supervisor at a uniform rate to insure adherence of material to the treated surface with minimum rebound and maximum density.
Must be familiar with concrete pumping equipment and compressors and their operations and safety procedures.
Must have working knowledge of forming, grades and screeding
Should be familiar with basic concrete technology.
Assist with operations as directed by immediate supervisor
Desired Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Must possess a valid Ghanaian driver’s license C & E classes.
Ensure all mine services in work areas including ventilation exceed minimum standards required prior to spraying
Knowledge on all facets of batching operations including operation of batch plant, AGI and batch plant.
Accurate recording and reporting of shotcrete information
May undertake other underground duties such as offsiding Jumbo’s and Service Crew Jobs when it becomes necessary
Manual dexterity with a strong attention to details
Strong and accurate English communication both written and oral.
A demonstrated passion for safety and a proactive attitude towards ensuring that safety is at the fore front of all employees.
A minimum of Four (4) years underground working experience in a similar position
WASSCE Certificate/Technical/Vocation
Mincom Shotcrete Operator Certificate
Good knowledge of ground support or underground mining operations is essential.
Ability to operate any Mining equipment (IT, LV) will be an added advantage.
