Job Description

  1. Prepare & plan advertising and promotional activities and material and its budgets; submit estimates for campaign costs;
  2. Confer with management regarding contracts, selection of advertising media or products to be advertised and work closely with commercial department, the management and advertising agencies;
  3. Gather and organize information to plan advertising campaigns;
  4. Prepare and negotiate advertising contracts;
  5. Inspect layouts and advertising copy and edit scripts, audio and video tapes and other promotional materials for adherence to specifications;
  6. Work with media to disseminate the advertisement;
  7. Monitor and analyze sales promotions results to determine cost effectiveness of promotion campaigns;
  8. Train, direct, recruit people/promoters engaged in developing and producing advertisements.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Work experience in a similar role for at least 2 years ;
  • Strong leadership and negotiating skills plus excellent command of English;
  • Previous work with Game or Shoprite is an advantage;
  • Higher education (preferably advertising, marketing or PR);
  • Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of key media and advertising companies;
  • Previous experience of work with newspapers is an advantage;
  • Experience in arranging regular promo activities;
  • Ability to demonstrate examples of own creative work on promo and advertising campaigns;
  • Knowledge of general principals of advertising design;
  • Result orientated approach to work.
