Job Description

Our client is currently in the process of rehabilitating the Accra Sewage and Faecal Treatment Plants and is seeking to engage globally minded and experienced individuals with successful track record in the specific fields to manage the affairs of the company. 

Applications are invited from Ghanaian and non –Ghanaian citizens with valid work permit and experience for the specific positions before 31st March, 2015.

The location for all the positions is Accra with possible and frequent travels in- country and abroad.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Managing Director and guidance of the Executive Director - Support, the Procurement and logistics Officer is responsible for effective delivery of procurement and supply chain services in order to obtain the best value for money. He/she analyses and interprets the financial rules and regulations and provides solutions to a wide spectrum of complex issues related to procurement, logistics and supply chain management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Procurement & Supply Chain officer promotes a collaborative, client-focused, quality and results-oriented approach in the Unit.

  • The Procurement & Supply Chain Officer works in close collaboration with the officials to successfully deliver procurement and supply chain services.
  • Implementation of procurement and supply chain processes. Ensures elaboration of operational strategies focusing on achievement of the following results: Full compliance of procurement and supply chain activities as stated in our clients internal rules, Regulations, Procurement Manual and Organization Directives; implementation of the effective internal control, proper design and functioning of a client-oriented procurement and supply chain management system. Request for awards, submissions to the internal committee - solicitation documents, evaluation reports, supplier correspondences, posting of procurement advertisements and other relevant procurement documents.
  • Creation of Purchase Orders in the internal system, seeking approval and budget checking, screening of supplier invoices for correctness, creation of receipts and monitoring of payments with Administration unit. Preparation and analysis of procurement-related reports including but not limited to weekly procurement tracking sheet, monthly procurement reports, quarterly procurement plans, lease reports, insurance reports and other related reports. Effective management and organization of procurement files and information.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, International Studies, Finance, Economics, Law, Commerce or related field. Applicants with a Bachelor's Degree and additional 5 years of working experience will be considered. Knowledge of Ghanaian procurement law will be an advantage.
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Office 2003 and or newer versions) and knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages. Experience in handling of web-based management systems.
