Job Description

Job Purpose:
The Deputy Managing Director (Operations & Technical) reports to and assist the Managing Director in the overall management of the Bank's business by the effective implementation of Board and Management strategies and decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Managing  Director  to determine  broad objectives and strategies for the Bank's business
• Assist the Managing Director to develop and implement quality   management,   strategies  and  plans, including resources, systems, financials and integrate them within the Bank's strategic plan
• Assist  the  Managing   Director in  the  preparation  and presentation of required technical papers to the Board
• Attend Board and Board-Committee meetings
• Responsible for the supervision of Banking Operations;
• Risk Management; Compliance; Inspection; Projects and Credit functions
• Deputise  for  the   Managing   Director  and  the   Deputy Managing  Director (Finance & Administration)  in  their absence
• Any other responsibilities assigned from time to time by the Managing Director

Required Skills or Experience

• A minimum of postgraduate degree and/or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Risk Management or any related discipline
• A minimum of ten (10) years post-qualification experience in banking with at least 5 years as a member of senior management team of a Bank.
• The candidate should possess considerable financial, administrative and managerial competence and leadership qualities.
• Knowledge and/or experience in rural banking is a requirement.
• Age: Between 35 and 50 years
