Job Description

• Assist the financial Accountant in the preparation of capital expenditure budget and other budgets for the company.
• Working knowledge in fixed asset acquisition, delivery, custody, issue and accounting.
• Compute the monthly depreciation of assets & book them in the accounts.
• Maintain & update regularly the fixed asset register.
• Institute internal controls over asset movements.
• Liaise with relevant units on asset coding and ensure all assets of the company are correctly coded.
• Ensure periodic reconciliation of all assets acquired to General Ledger.
• Initiate & supervise processes of Quarterly asset verification.
• Initiate and coordinate asset disposals and ensure all assets are disposed off in accordance with company policy.
• Assist the Financial Accountant in the monthly reconciliation of company ledgers & Balance sheet item Reconciliation.
• Perform all Bank Reconciliations.
• Ensure all fixed assets of the firm are well protected by ensuring relevant insurance policies exist.
• Supervise all asset valuation/revaluation works including WIPs.
• Assist the financial accountant in capital allowance computations and submit same to the relevant authorities.
• Any other duties to be assigned by supervisor

Required Skills or Experience

• A minimum of a University Degree in Accounting from a recognised University or its equivalent qualification or Professional Accounting qualification (ACCA/ICA Level 2)
• At least three years full-time industry experience.
• Must be computer literate.
• Experience in Hospitality Accounting is an advantage.
