The Mental Health Authority, an agency of the Ministry of Health, was established in accordance with Mental Health Act, 2012 (Act 846) of the Republic of Ghana. The Authority is mandated to regulate mental health practice in Ghana and provide mental health services via public psychiatric hospitals in the country.

Job Description

Functions:

• The Deputy CEO shall assist the CEO in the running of the Authority and in the execution of the CEO's functions
• Shall execute assignments and responsibilities given by the CEO and the Board
• In the absence of the CEO the Deputy CEO shall run the affairs of the Board

Required Skills or Experience

The Deputy CEO shall have at least ten years experience in  Mental  Health services  and should have the following:

• At least ten years experience in management
• A post graduate qualification in a relevant field
• Aptitude and passion for Mental Health
• Ability to serve at least four years before retirement
• Clinical experience would be an added advantage
