Job Description

A Non – Bank Financial Services Company has vacancies for highly motivated individuals with high integrity and a passion to succeed for hiring as Project Manager

Reports To: Project Director

Purpose of the Job

Accomplishes project objectives by planning and evaluating project activities.

Key performance areas

  • Manage project delivery from initiation through to closure
  • Be accountable for project results, along with the sponsor
  • Work with the sponsor and project stakeholders to complete the project charter outlining scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget and timing
  • Complete the work breakdown structure to estimate the effort required for each task
  • Provide and maintain a project Flight plan, identifying when each task will be performed
  • Clearly communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders
  • Act as a mediator between stakeholders and team members
  • Resolve any issues and solve problems throughout the project lifecycle
  • Effectively manage project scope by ensuring changes to scope are documented and approved with project change request forms
  • Determine if external consultants or contractors will be required to complete the project plan. If required, recruit and manage appropriate staffing resources
  • Track and report on project milestones and provide status reports to the sponsor and to the PMO
  • Lead, coach and motivate project team members on a proactive basis
  • Determine how results will be measured and complete a post-implementation evaluation to determine how well results were achieved
  • Ensure adherence to the PMO methodology and quality standards
  • Ensure adherence to the PMO Configuration Management strategy

Required Skills or Experience

Essential
  • B.Com degree, or equivalent qualification
  • Sound working knowledge of the full MS Office suite, including MS Project and Visio
  • Minimum of 5 years fulltime experience as a senior project manager
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining controls for risk and quality
  • Internationally recognised project management qualification

Preferred

  • Experience running projects across multiple jurisdictions

  • Strong conflict management skills
  • The ability to command respect and to create a sense of community amongst the often disparate members of project teams
  • Sufficient seniority and credibility to communicate with senior stakeholders
