Job Description

World Vision Ghana (WVG) is looking for a highly qualified, proactive, motivated and resourceful person to fill the position of Project Manager – SATISFY Project

Job Summary

The SATISFY Project Manager will be responsible for the management and coordination of the CIDA funded SATISFY project in Ghana. He/she will be responsible for the leadership of the SATISFY Project in leading the team to the achievement of the results as per the SATISFY Project Memorandum of Understanding.

The Package

  • The position is based in Kintampo - Brong Ahafo Region with some level of domestic/international travels.
  • The position comes with an attractive salary package.
  • S/He reports to the Grants Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall management and coordination for the SATISFY Project team in the realization of program results according to the SATISFY MoU.
  • Support the creation of the Project Implementation Plan (PIP), performance measurement framework and Annual World Plans and ensure continued adherence to these plans with justifications where needed for variances.
  • Oversee SATISFY in-country budget and regularly monitor annual spending and financial variances, as supported by SATISFY accountant and World Vision Finance manager.
  • Provide leadership and coordination to SATISFY steering committees at local, regional and national levels.
  • Ensure the documentation of lessons learned and best practices are shared through internal and external food security knowledge sharing forums.
  • Oversee project communication strategies, including compliance with CIDA's branding, marketing requirements as well as marketing and communication procedures.
  • Work in close collaboration with other World Vision supported programs in area to ensure program integration and alignment with World Vision Ghana National strategy.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Minimum of a degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics or related field. 
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5 to 7 years field experience with INGO’s.

 Critical Competencies

  • Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities
  • Strong program management skills and experience managing large scale internationally funded grant projects
  • Proven leadership skills and experience in people management.
  • Skills and solid experience in external stakeholder engagement including donors, government and private sector and experience with coordination of multi-stakeholder forums and steering committees.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation.
  • Experience providing food security technical support and ensuring program quality for large scale internationally funded grant projects.
  • Experience in and ability to take ‘systems approach’ to large scale projects including the integration of food security, economic development, natural resource management, nutrition, institutional capacity and other key cross cutting themes (gender, environment).
  • Self-starter and team player with high standards and solid command of technical issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong English communication skills (oral and written) and experience in report writing.
  • Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment.
  • Willingness to be innovative and flexible, while still ensuring achievement of program results.
