Job Description

An excellent opportunity for a proactive person to join a well-established Insurance Company as Claims Officer 

  • Report to: Head of Central Claims   
  • Job Location: Accra

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Register and acknowledge receipt of all claims and request for necessary documentation
  • Liaise with Reinsurance Unit on all claims with Coinsurance and Facultative Reinsurance arrangements.
  • Ensure prompt payment of claims in compliance with Company policy
  • Keep diary of reported claims & issue follow-up letters within the stipulated time
  • Conduct survey or cause survey to be conducted when notified and ensure availability of quality survey report.
  • Prepare claims paid and outstanding bordereau schedules
  • Collect salvage parts and keep an updated salvage register and monthly subrogation report

Required Skills or Experience

  • University Degree (preferably in Insurance) 
  • Diploma in Insurance (WAII) will be an advantage
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant working experience
  • Good claims management skills and knowledge of the Insurance Industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Should be very analytical and possess excellent organizational skills
  • Should be very meticulous
  • Ability to relate well with people and possess excellent interpersonal skills
