Job Description

• Job Title: Credit Analyst
• Job Location: Head Office

Job Purpose

• The credit manager position is accountable for the entire credit granting process, including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses.
• Analyze credit data and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money. Prepare reports that include the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money.
• Evaluate customer records and recommend payment plans based on earnings, savings data, payment history, and purchase activity.
• Confer with credit association and other business representatives to exchange credit information.
• Complete loan applications, including credit analyses and summaries of loan requests, and submit to loan committees for approval.
• Generate financial ratios, using computer programs, to evaluate customers' financial status.

Working Conditions

• Works in a fast-paced office environment.
• Expected to travel to customer locations on short notice to conduct negotiations.

Required Skills or Experience

• 2 years of credit experience.
• Bachelor's degree in business and experience with credit scoring systems preferred.
• Have a thorough knowledge of credit-related laws.
• Be willing to periodically travel to customer sites.
• Have considerable experience with customer negotiations.
