Job Description

  • sorting documents and posting debits and credits to proper accounts.
  •  maintaining and making necessary adjustments to various logs or financial records, like property records, payrolls, journals, time reports and other balancing entries,
  •  verifying codes and amounts on various forms for accuracy,
  • reconciling department records and bank statements,
  • verifying totals and statement items with department records,
  • making and checking necessary calculations, preparing and checking requisitions, invoices, and other related documents,
  • answering inquiries regarding work being performed, obtaining approvals when necessary, sorting mail, typing, filing and other clerical duties.

Required Skills or Experience

  • knowledge of basic mathematics, bookkeeping practices and principles and other finance related knowledge
  • good communication skills, both oral and written, and interpersonal skills, proven skills in maintaining accounting or bookkeeping records.
  • Basic computer skills are also a must in this line of work.
  • analytical and problem solving skills should be added to the list.
