Job Description

A construction firm is looking for a Quantity Surveyor with 4 years considerable experience in Project Tenders and Contract Management. He/she should be capable of:

• cost planning and estimating of all construction projects as a basic and adaptable approach by a Quantity Surveyor
• preparing an accurate unpriced/priced bill of quantities specific to the project scope of works and reviewing before submission to clients
• preparing to a greater extent, accurate work sections for specifications description 
• preparing an accurate schedule of materials relevant to the execution of scope of works
• assist with the preparation of schedule of works/program of works relevant to each project's scope of works
• evaluating and certifying accurately, subcontractors submitted interim payment certificates of works executed
• assisting by providing strategic advice in developing and implementing overall portfolio programmes, plans and schedules
• working with and being conversant with different standards of measurements (cost and pricing models) and or new rules of measurements for all types of building works
• lead contract negotiations with clients and subcontactors by being abreast with industrial standards and best practices
• He/she shall maintain a register of unit rates of materials and labour for preparation of cost estimates.
• Actively engage in knowledge sharing and also improve one’s professional and as well as other colleague's skills.

Required Skills or Experience

To be eligible for this position, you must possess a qualification (either HND or B.Sc.) in Building Technology or in relevant field. A professional qualification from RICS, UK or from Ghana would be of great advantage. 

You should also be/have:

• Computer literacy in Excel, Word, MS Project, AutoCAD, QS CAD
• Extensive knowledge in SMM7 and/or New Rules of Measurement 1,2&3 (NRM1,2&3) and/or estimating
