JOB DESCRIPTION

• Operations Manager
• Reporting to the General Manager, the operations manager’s primary responsibility is to manage the day-to-day freight activities at the local level.
• Responsibilities:
• Develop overall local operational strategy and direction for the freight forwarding teams.
• Oversee the development of new freight business, maintain and develop relationships with new and existing clients in the local market, and drive the business for maximum utilization of existing facilities.
• Ensure that financial management (billing and invoicing) and reporting for freight is carried out in accordance with company requirements. 
• Coordinate with senior members of governmental & other official bodies to ensure that current operation complies as per the regulations & rules of Company.
• Ensure that complete Health & Safety regulations are adhered to at the warehouse and by all operational & warehouse staff. 
• Lead and motivate the team, drive quality and performance.

SKILLS /  REQUIREMENTS

• Forecasting/billing  activities for the clearing activities 
• Knowledge in logistic especially clearing activities at Tema and Takoradi port and at Kotoka International airport. 
• Excellent team work attitude
• Cost/ saving knowledge 
• Excellent links with the various 3rd parties involved during the clearing procedure (GHPA, TEMINALS; CUSTOM, PREVENTIVE, FDA, GSB, etc.)
• Excellent management reference, he/her shall have at least 10 years’ experience in the freight forwarding industry 
• He/Her shall be able to work under pressure always keeping focus the various target 
• Knowledge in GCNET

• Bachelor's or Master's in Logistics or relative
• 8 years + in similar Role with  Freight Forwarding Company
