Job Description

Job Concept:

  • Market Development and high sales success are some of the cardinal objectives of a strong marketing function.
  • Some other objectives of a strong marketing function include excellent distribution, communication, pricing and account management activities.
  • The Marketing and Sales Manager for the company will provide a broad range of business development services by researching and developing marketing opportunities and plans; implementing sales plans and managing the marketing team. Business Development strategy is of utmost importance to every business organization.
  • It plays a crucial part in the growth of that organization.
  • In a world of cut throat competition, every business organization has a common agenda to constantly come up with different ways of achieving maximum growth, sales, profits and in the process, stay ahead of its competitors.

Scope Of Role:
The Marketing Manager for the company will be expected to achieve the following:

  • Identify marketing opportunities by identifying consumer requirements; defining market, competitor's share, and competitor's strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business; establishing targeted market share.
  • Improve product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and capitalizing on market opportunities; improving product packaging; coordinating new product development.
  • Achieve marketing and sales operational objectives by contributing marketing and sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
  • Meet marketing and sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Determine annual and gross-profit plans by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products; analyzing trends and results; establishing pricing strategies; recommending selling prices; monitoring costs, competition, supply, and demand.
  • Accomplish marketing and sales objectives by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating advertising, merchandising, and trade promotion programs; developing field sales action plans.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Candidate must possess BA/BS in related discipline and extensive experience in a relevant field.
  • MBA is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5years working experience in related field/trade

Knowledge And Skills:
Technical Competence

  • Ability to initiate marketing strategies and coordinate actions to influence the market
  • In-depth knowledge of sales and marketing strategies and SWOT analysis
  • Knowledge of territory management
  • Ability to set achievable sales target
  • Computer literacy (word, excel, PPT etc.)
  • Sustains rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
