Job Description

A  reputable agro based organization in the Western Region is inviting applications from competent and qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Manager, Plantation. 

The successful candidate will report to the Plantation Managerr and will be responsible for coordinating the purchases of oil palm fruits from the Central and Western Regions. 

Key Responsiblities include:

• Manage the company's smallhholder project as well as coordinate the purchase of fruits from medium scale farms
• Monitor /collate information of FFB (Fresh Fruit Bunch) availability /pricing and provide timely feedback to management for redress
• Liaise with agents and third party FFB suppliers for the supply of good quality FFB to the mill
• Ensure proper regulation of both harvesting and maintenance activities on all smallholder farms
• Assess needs of farmers and give technical/extension services when necessary
• Keep record of performance of self-delivery suppliers
• Expand the company's partnership with medium scale farms

Required Skills or Experience

The suitablle candidate :

• Must have a first degree in Agronomy; a masters degree will be an added advantage
• Must have 5years working experience in a similar role
• Must have excellent people management skills
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively ,both orally and in writing
• Must have effective analytical and problem-solving skills
