Discovery Learning Alliance (DLA) is a US-based non-profit organisation using the power of media to improve student learning outcomes, teacher effectiveness and community engagement in schools in the developing world. This is the focus of Discovery Girls. with DFID and Discovery Communications support, the project will reach hundreds of schools and communities across Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria over the next 2-3 years. DLA is inviting applications for the two senior-most positions of the project team, to be based in Tamale - the overall Project Manager and the Training & Outreach Manager. In the near future, we will be advertising for additional positions responsible for teacher training and community outreach.

Job Description

Audition alert for PAID actors for an educational film for students in Ghana.

Think Out Loud Productions is casting a talented actor and actress for PAID roles in or around the Tamale region:

• Main Character – 1 Muslim girl, age 8-11, preferably veiled
• Brother of Main Character – 1 Muslim boy, age 8-11

The shoot will take place in late September 2017 in Tamale.

The program is being produced for Discovery Learning Alliance and will explore literacy and numeracy skills featured in the national curriculum for students in Ghana. The videos will be used by teachers in their classrooms, as well as within local communities.
