Senior Toolpusher – Roles & responsibilities:

• Plan and monitor the progress of the drilling operation and control all associated work in a safe and efficient manner as defined in the drilling program.
• Monitor adherence to standards, specifications and procedures and review performance of department staff.
• Ensure that staff are provided with sufficient resources and training to achieve their safety objectives.
• Check programmes and calculations supplied by the Operator and challenge them if necessary.
• Perform well control calculations as required.
• Keep daily logs/reports in connection with drilling operations.
• Agree and check monthly timesheets with Operator.
• Responsible for ensuring the maintenance of all drilling equipment, including marine riser and drill string components.
• Responsible for ensuring that all modifications, breakdowns and maintenance work (both scheduled and unscheduled) carried out on drilling equipment has been entered into the TAG system.
• Control the budget within the drilling department.
• Ensure the installation has adequate supplies for drilling and maintenance of drilling equipment.
• Ensure the running and retrieving of all subsea equipment is adequately supervised.
• Carry out periodic appraisals of drilling personnel.
• Assess and monitor drilling department relief personnel.
• Keep the Master/OIM informed in all matters of significance within the drilling department.  
• Ensures that the drills are properly conducted and recorded in the files.
• Allocate tasks to Toolpusher and provide adequate supervision in order to ensure that all such tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
• Responsible and accountable for the safety of the personnel working under their direction and shall be expected to conduct operations at all times in full compliance with company procedures (SMS)
• Identify and address any violations of procedures concerning personnel under their direction.
• Continuous or repeated violations of policies or procedures should be highlighted and brought to the attention of the HoD/Master-OIM.
• Comply with the Management of Change Principle.Actively participate in accident/incident investigations when required.
• If allocated to an MPD capable vessel (full MPD system installed);
• Be fully aware of all MPD policies and procedures.
• Plan and Monitor the progress of MPD operations and control all associated work in a safe manner as defined in the MPD drilling program.
• Track and record all 3rd Party costs associated with MPD operations.

Health, Safety & Environment

• Work according to and promote Stena Drilling’s HS&E Policies and Procedures as well as fully commit to preventing any damage to the environment.
• Responsible and accountable to conduct their tasks in full compliance with Stena Drilling Limited procedures.
• Comply with Stena Drilling procedures for management of risk and Safe Behaviour Programme; ensuring that a suitable and sufficient risk assessment is carried out for all work activities.
• Participate in the STOP system, complete and submit cards after discussions. Monitor and coach crew members to participate in STOP and carry out STOP audits.
• Promote Stena Drilling’s “Golden Rules” and the rig’s “House Rules” during team discussions.
• Attend and participate in Tool Box Talks and After Action Reviews.
• Ensure work site is safe and that all tools used are in a satisfactory condition.
• Ensure that storage, handling and use of chemicals are done in accordance with procedures.
• Ensure equipment is secured to prevent movement due to wind or rig motion.
• Ensure familiar with correct use, type and location of all Oil Spill Equipment.
• Comply with Stena Drilling’s waste segregation policy.

Required Skills or Experience

• Current IWCF Well control Supervisor Level 4 certificate
• Experience as a Senior Toolpusher
• Extensive experience on dual operation cyber drilling vessel.  
• Previous experience on a RAM rig.  
• Experience of two stack operation and their management.
• Experience managing integrated well service applications including contractual obligations.
• 20 years relative  previous experience
