Job Description

  • Develops and implements health, safety, environment and quality policies and SOP’s to help employers reduce accident-related costs and prevent losses
  • Keeps up to date with all new legislation and development in HSEQ and advising the organization of any changes
  • Handles training for emergency procedures and work place related health and safety topics
  • Carries out safety inspections
  • Responsible for all quality control measures and directions
  • Monitors to ensure that workers comply with new policies and SOPs
  • Coordinates and ensures PPEs are available to all employees and that they wear it on the job.
  • Records and investigates accidents and incidents and prepare reports
  • Manages the Site Health, Safety and Environment legislation, compliance to both internal, national and international regulations
  • Provides monthly training information and educational activities
  • Conducts risk assessment and job safety analysis for all operations
  • Conducts weekly toolbox meeting
  • Handles HSE monthly inspection and suggests interventions
  • Conducts internal and external control audit.
  • Attends external meetings organized by regulatory agencies and other reputable house with sectional Heads for advice, suggestions, directions etc.
  • Supervises the housekeeping of the site and provide health advise and direction
  • Reviews HSEQ policies
  • Responsible for the First Aid on the site
  • Researches on HSEQ
  • Effective monitoring of the Site’s Health, Safety, Environment and Quality issues
  • Conducts internal Audit to ensure that every unit is in compliance with the health, safety environment and quality directives and regulations at the site
  • Responsible for the monitoring and directing of proper records management
  • Develops action plans to conduct checks at the plant site to ensure compliance of the organization’s health and safety policies and regulations
  • Champions record keeping responsibilities through health and safety awareness to all staff in every meeting and training
  • Develops and enforces sub contractual  agreement
  • Provides and supervises HSE reporting and the acquisition, maintenance and dissemination of HSE data and statistics
  • Minimizes the number of accidents, incidents and environmental impacts our employees and other parties at the site
  • Reviews all site accidents and assists in coordination of site accident investigations
  • Reviews and arranges for the provision of the site HSEQ equipment and training required by each construction site team
  • Promotes and enforces all HSE programs and work rules on the site
  • Examines the subcontractors site HSE plans and creating a coordination structure among the various subcontractors in relation to HSE
  • Identifies External Auditor to confirm our in-house HSEQ procedures and processes
  • Any other duty that may be assigned to you from time to time

Required Skills or Experience

  • BSc in Environmental Health or its equivalent
  • Possessing most relevant (if not all) Safety Qualification/Certification
  • Minimum of 2-4 years’ work experience in a similar position.
  • Hands on experience in H&SE and quality control
  • Microsoft office use and outlook

Technical Competencies

  • Coordinates organizational health, safety and environmental policies and regulations to ensure a health, safe and environmental compliant working environment
  • Monitors the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards and trains employees on health, safety and associated environmental policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Conducts inspections of work area and equipment for compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Ensures employees in each function follow established health, safety and environmental protection procedures and comply with associated government institutions and local regulations
  • Designs reporting skills system to advise and create a case for prosecution following in the event of serious accident at workplace
  • designs and maintains inspection records
  • Provides direction for all quality control activities and advise in the day-to-day operations
