Job Description

A reputable institution is seeking a Consultancy firm with a proven record of situation analysis, strategy formulation and has requisite skills and experience in the development and operation of Pest Management Plan, its potential social impact on health and safety and the environment for two year assignment, with a possibility of extension.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a Pest Management Plan (PMP) for our schools
• Promote the use of environmentally friendly pest control practices
• Develop monitoring and evaluation systems for the various pest management practices
• Establish clear procedures and methodologies for planning, designing and implementation of pest management practices
• Assess the potential health and safety, environmental and social impacts of the pest management activities in schools
• Collect, enter, and organize data and other information to support the PMP development
• Compiling in-depth report on progress of project
• Strategize for contingency planning and risk mitigation
• Propose a budget for the PMP development

Required Skills or Experience

The lead consultant for the firm must have these skills and qualifications:

• Experience in working in a consulting environment is highly desired
• Ability to do in depth research on given subject
• Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, presentation and communication skills
• Ability to plan, design and implement with success pest management projects
• Knowledge in Health and safety practices
• Must have proven track record of management, leadership and coordination skills.
• Ability to handle multiple team members with confidence
• Ability to present ideas with ease, confidence and persistence.
• Focused with a proven ability to get things done in a timely manner
• Conversant with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Experience and Academic Qualifications

• Master’s degree in either Environment, Agriculture or Plant Protection or another relevant field in pest control or pesticide development
• An experience in Pest Management or Agriculture Extension with  at least 7 years of demonstrated understanding of environmental sustainability issues
• Experience in project management
• In-depth understanding of the Ghanaian Education Sector
• PhD will be an added advantage
