Background
The Innovation in Non-Traditional Vocational Education and Skills Training (INVEST) is a 5 year initiative that will build sustainable pathways to enhanced economic empowerment, well-being and inclusive growth for 5,000 urban poor young women in Accra, Kumasi, and Sekondi-Takoradi, Ghana. Working in high growth sectors, the initiative will test and scale innovative, sustainable models to improve the enabling environment, reduce gender-specific barriers to women’s economic participation, and enhance access to decent work for marginalized women in non-traditional sectors.   
 
Purpose
The INVEST project is currently seeking to contract the services of a media and communications agency to provide strategic media, advocacy, social marketing and communications services for the project. The services will cover three regions in Ghana - Sekondi-Takoradi, Kumasi and the Greater Accra. The key audiences for these communication services will include INVEST project beneficiaries, TVET sector stakeholders, and INVEST project partners. Consultant should expect to collaborate with the INVEST project team. The project will require that a range of media and communications services are deployed that are adapted to the information needs and channels through which the above audiences consume their information. 
 
Specific Objectives
  • To improve public and industry attitudes towards women's economic participation in high-growth and non-traditional sectors.
  • To raise awareness of pathways to training and opportunities in high-growth and non-traditional sectors and amongst urban poor young women (18-35) in Accra, Kumasi and Sekondi-Takoradi.
  • To amplify locally led innovative advocacy and public engagement initiatives focused on women in high-growth and non-traditional sectors.
  • To curate visibility and recognition events for the INVEST project.
