Job Description

Since more than 60 years, we are an international company operating in Liberia, producing beverages.

We are inviting candidates to apply, who are willing to relocate to Liberia.

The mid-term perspective is to grow into the role as a chief accountant:

  • Preparation of financial, extended trial balance, general ledger reports
  • Prepare and supervises the reconciliation of bank accounts, account receivables, account payables and sales accounts
  • Generate financial reports and statements to managers for review, analyze financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions
  • Monitor expenditures, analyze revenues and determine budget variances and report the same to management
  • Preparation and supervision of payroll, monthly reports, Guinness Liberia Incorporated statements, NSSJWC reports, payroll summary, FX-transactions and role
  • Prepare fixed assets register and depreciation, respond to accounting inquiries from management in a timely fashion and provide guidance to other accountants when needed
  • Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations
  • Monitor and record financial transactions according to company policies and regulations
  • Review and recommend changes to existing accounting procedures, maintaining accurate up to date records of all financial transactions
  • Supervision accounts and all account related activities
  • Perform related work as required

Required Skills or Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (mandatory)
  • Experience as an accountant in a manufacturing setting
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information in a sensitive and tactful manner
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality involving all financial information and all internal/external correspondence
  • Good verbal written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to plan, manage and follow through on assignment and communicate at all levels of an organization in a timely and professional manner
  • Leadership ability and pro-active approach in solving problems
  • Strong commitment to corporate goals
  • Auditing experience
  • Knowledge of Liberian Accounting Standard as well as IFRS
  • Skills in economic analysis (e.g. make or buy decisions, cost/benefit analysis etc.)
  • Understands the concepts of sunk cost, opportunity cost, difference between efficiency and effectiveness
  • Good knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
  • Good knowledge of Intuit Quickbooks
