Job Description

  • REPORTS DIRECTLY TO :   GENERAL MANAGER – BUSINESS OPERATIONS AND PERFORMANCE 
  • DIRECTLY SUPERVISES:FUTURE PLANNING ENGINEERS (TBC)
  • OTHER INTERNAL CONTACTS:  MD, HR & Administration, Accounts, GM – Design and Construction, Quantity Surveyors, Construction Managers, Project Managers, Front Desk Executives, Contracts and Procurement, Logistics 
  • EXTERNAL CONTACTS: Ministries and Agencies, other Institutions and all clients of FRIDOUG Limited.
 
ROLE PROFILE
Provide planning and scheduling support required in the execution of all construction/capital projects.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop detailed execution plans linked with procurement activities and resource requirements 
  • Prepare Work Breakdown Structures for the various projects aligned with Contracts and Financial requirements/reporting 
  • Liaise with Quantity Surveyors and Site Management teams to undertake valuation/progress of works 
  • Coordinate weekly, monthly planning meetings to cover the various time horizon of activities 
  • Ensure plans are fully updated and progress tracked and made available to key stakeholders including Site teams 
  • Identify potential risks to schedule and work with teams to recommend mitigation actions for same
  • Evaluate the planning and scheduling information collected from Project Management Teams or Contractors and advise Management of expectations to the plan and potential corrective action and/or impacts to the project
  • Review and monitor schedule and progress submitted by contractors during detailed design drawings, Procurement and construction
  • Prepares weekly and daily (as required) Progress reports for the various project sites 
  • Training workers and subcontractors, as well as making sure the project meets all building and safety codes

Required Skills or Experience

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

  • Hold a Degree in Engineering from a recognized tertiary institution
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Primavera (P6)
  • Technical knowledge in administration of the various Engineering tools and software programmes. 
TECHNICAL 
  • 5-10 Years Planning and Project Management experience
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Ability to meet set goals 
  • Ability to solve problems based on researching and analyzing information 
  • Be creative and innovative
  • Ability to manage time effectively and multi-task
  • Working knowledge of the various Engineering tools and software programmes
MANAGERIAL
  • Ability to supervise team members
  • Ability to set and monitor individual goals as well as motivate employees to achieve set goals.
  • Ability to give honest and constructive feedback to team members
  • Ability to delegate and follow through to get desired results
