Job Description

Hollard Insurance is looking for an Accounts Officer in Charge of Payment

Job Objective
To maintain processing and payment of claimants and vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • To manage the paying of invoices and claims owed by the company
  • Input and code invoices to cost center and profit centers
  • ​Process invoices and claims
  • Match invoices with Purchase Order (if applicable)
  • Send invoices to Manager for payment approval
  • Schedule pay runs based on standard company payment terms
  • Update and maintain vendor database in a timely manner
  • Perform reconciliations including supplier statement reconciliations and accounts payable balances
  • Support the month end process by providing supporting documentation for month end journals
  • Report on Aged Payables plus other ad hoc reporting where applicable
  • Identify improvements to the accounts payable process

Required Skills or Experience

  • HND or Degree in Accounting
  • Foundation level in ACCA or ICAG will be an advantage.
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant work experience
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting and accounts payable principles
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage financial records
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • Ability to build good relationships with other team members
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Computerized accounting programs including Excel and SAGE Accounting packages.
