Job Description

• Direct and coordinate worker activities, such as planting, irrigation, chemical application, harvesting, grading, payroll, and recordkeeping.
• Analyze soil to determine type and quantity of fertilizer required for maximum production.
• Scheduling repairs, maintenance, and replacement of equipment and machinery, inspect farm buildings and equipment, ensuring routine maintenance is carried out and repairs are made when necessary.
• Plan and direct development and production of hybrid maize variety, rice and soy beans seed with high yield.
• Ensure farm safety, food safety and security and bio-security procedures are followed. Ensure and enforce compliance with government regulations and health and safety standards.
• Maintain quality control and production records. Supervise, monitor, and enforce procedures to maintain crop health and welfare.
• Ensuring seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other supplies are regularly restocked.
• Installation, maintenance, and regular monitoring of irrigation system.
• Building professional networks and keeping abreast of developments in agricultural science

Required Skills or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, or equivalent.
• Additional courses in Business Management or Administration is recommended.
• Extensive experience in soy beans, rice and hybrid seed production.
• You must reside in the Northern Region and be willing to relocate to Karaga Distric where our farms located.
• Ability to communicate fluently in English and Dabgani as well as some of the Northern local dialect
• Management experience would be a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• The ability to make decisions in stressful environments.
• Superb communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work overtime as required.
• Must be honest, trustworthy and be able to demonstrate strong work ethics.
• Must have excellent interpersonal, team building, and decision-making skills.
