Company Profile Total Family Health Organisation (TFHO) is an indigenous Ghanaian social marketing organization duly registered in accordance with the laws of Ghana on February 1, 2017. We work to improve the health of people living in Ghana primarily through implementation of innovative evidence-based interventions that increases access to and utilization of health products and services in a measurable and impactful way. Our key intervention areas include Family Planning and Reproductive Health, Maternal, New-born, and Child Health (RMNCH), communicable and noncommunicable diseases, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), nutrition, and malaria. We utilize our deep insight and skills in Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) and social marketing to promote positive social and behavior change among individuals and communities. Our Mission Job Description Background In September 2021, in the heat of the third wave of COVID-19 infection in Ghana, TFHO with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the Health Marketing Activity (HMA) collaborated with Ghana Health Service (GHS) to conduct Risk Communication intervention in selected districts with high COVID-19 infection rates (i.e., districts that were hotspots of COVID-19 infections) in Ashanti and Greater Accra regions. Activities implemented to date include regional and district stakeholder engagement meetings, training of selected Ghana Health service staff (mainly health promotion and disease control officers), interactive television and radio interview sessions and innovative community level Interpersonal Communication (IPC) Activities. These activities were instrumental in increasing awareness and promoting adherence to COVID-19 prevention protocols including vaccinations. Over the period, a total of approximately 1,000,000 people have been reached with appropriate information on COVID-19 and supported the deployment of approximately 500,000 vaccines. On May 16, 2022, the Health Marketing Activity received additional funding to provide vaccination operational support to Ghana Health Service to deploy 2,000,000 million vaccines in Ashanti, Central, and Greater Accra regions under the COVAX initiative over the next 12 months targeting eligible populations especially the youth (age 15 years to 25 years). This activity contributes to achieving the goal of the U.S. COVID-19 Global Response and Recovery Framework which seeks to end the pandemic i.e., bringing down to manageable levels and bringing mortality down to pre-pandemic baselines, while mitigating the rippling disruptions to society stemming from the public health crisis. This activity is being implemented in close collaboration with other USAID implementing partners such as Jhpiego RISE, JSI Care continuum, Global Communities, Mullen Lowe, FHI 360, and John Hopkins University.
