Job Description

Purpose Statement:

  • Develop a significant institutional and bulk sales business for the sale of petroleum and allied products.
  • Ensure So Energy is projected and perceived as an eminent, excellent, strong and superior brand amongst bulk and institutional players in the downstream petroleum retailing industry.

Key Deliverables

  • Identify potential institutional customers and develop and implement the commercial business plan for each institution.
  • Conduct and periodically update market research for identified industrial segments.
  • Identify the strengths of institutional business partners and their value to the So Energy bulk and retail sales network.
  • Develop a plan for each institutional client on the type of business to be developed based on the market study and in consultation with the management team of the client.
  • Supervise and prospect for and finalise supply agreements with both retail and bulk business partners.
  • Co-ordinate brand and communications activities to enhance optimum brand experience for all bulk / institutional customers within the county.
  • Develop and manage market-related brand and communication initiatives to optimise usage, consistency and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure accurate marketing information is communicated to institutional customers and coordinate training and education of concerned individuals to support marketing initiatives.
  • Act as brand custodian for all communications to bulk and retail institutional customers and keep abreast of all major news items related to So Energy.
  • Carry out market research, competitor analysis and benchmarking within Regional Markets as well as monitoring competitor brand and communication initiatives.
  • Closely monitor the competitors’ activities and develop local strategies for facing the competition. Conduct market intelligence on competitor’s activities on their plans, prices, sales, etc.
  • Consistent achievement of the targeted sales volume for the department.
  • Ensure to maintain dedicated dealer/ distributor network for effectively accomplishing revenue estimates and thereby adding to organizational profitability.
  • Develop and maintain cordial relations with all the relevant government authorities as well as with the local Authorities.
  • Ensure optimum product distribution to bulk customers by to plan and anticipate cyclical trends.
  • Maintenance of daily, weekly quality records bulk departments to monitor possible product problems.

Required Skills or Experience

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Degree holder with at least 2 - 3 years’ relevant experience
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Must be adept at managing several projects simultaneously whilst working to a budget and meeting deadlines.
  • Hands-on experience of dealing with external suppliers and clients, as well as proven ability to deliver creative solutions.

Minimum Qualification/ Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
