Job Description

As a Sales Engineer, you will be required to apply your Functional and Technical Sales and Engineering skills to satisfactorily market our company’s Mining-related Equipment, Replacement Parts, and Consumables, to mining companies in Ghana in the immediate-term, and other countries within West Africa in the mid-term.
 
The Sales Engineer role requires the development of customer-specific sales strategies and their day-to-day implementation. You will report to the Operations Manager and work in collaboration with the Technical Services Engineer.
 
As the Sales Engineer, you are required to have a solid understanding of the company’s products. You must acquire sufficient information about the equipment and requirements of existing and prospective customers, and be responsible for developing and maintaining long-term relationships with them.
 
You will be required to have a professional understanding of the needs and expectations of existing and prospective customers, and recommend ways of meeting their requirements.
 
Duties:
 
1. By initiating and maintaining a good relationship with existing and prospective clients, you will be expected to generate high-quality sales leads, and following up after initial contact to secure and renew orders.
 
2. Making technical presentations to potential clients at sales or industry events.
 
3. In collaboration with the Technical Services Engineer provide clients with technical advice and training, so that they can derive maximum benefits from our products or service.
 
4. Provide effective after-sales support service.
 
5. Monitoring and analysing market trends associated with the company’s scope of business.
 
6. Monitoring and evaluating the performance of products and services provided by competitors and accordingly offering relevant proposals to management with the object of leveraging our services to meet the expectations of clients.
 
7. Responsible for submitting weekly activity plans, meeting monthly customer visit targets, developing opportunities, and continuously following up and reporting on all open proposals. These activities are key performance indicators
 
8. Submit marketing, pre-sales, and after-sales reports to the Operations Manager. This will include identifying areas for improvement and communicating these issues as well as possible solutions to upper management.

Required Skills or Experience

1. A Bachelor's Degree in engineering, marketing, business administration, or related field.
 
2. Evidence of ample experience and knowledge on equipment, replacement parts, and consumables used in the mining industry will be an added advantage. These include but not be limited to the following:
i. Conveyor Belts
ii. Rubber Sheets for Wear Protection
iii. Pulley Lagging Material
iv. Mill Liners and Screen Panels
v. Conveyor System parts 
vi. Replacement Components for Gyratory Crusher/Cone Crusher/Impact Crusher and Jaw Crushers 
vii. Lifting and Hoisting Equipment and Consumables
 
3. Satisfactory application of MS Word, PPT, Excel other sales-related software.
 
4. Excellent verbal and written English language communication skills. 
 
5. Exhibit interpersonal skills.
 
6. Good driving skills and must possess a valid Driving License.
