Job Description

• Assemble and if and when necessary rework vehicles as per VWSA requirements without damage to paint work
• Move vehicles on and off hoists.
• Filling of lubricants and fluids for assembled vehicles
• Ensure no tools or parts have been left in vehicle.
• Maintain control over tools and equipment
• Prepare vehicles for shipment as per VWSA requirements.
• Check and verify packing list of SKD kit
• Maintain good housekeeping of the Hoist, working area and workshop shop.
• Performs any duties, within your scope, as requested by the SKD Manager .
• Service and repair VW Passenger and VW Commercial vehicles
• Conduct diagnostic check and repairs on VW models
• Ensure road safety through quality workmanship
• Stay abreast of development by reading workshop bulletins and workshop manuals
• Ensure that workshop regulations and safety are adhere to
• Assist with preparing vehicles for Press launches
• Maintain asset register for tools and equipment

Required Skills or Experience

• Hold a Motor Vehicle Mechanics / Technician certificate 
• Electrical equivalent would be an advantage
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience related to mechanical and electrical fault finding and development of technical solutions
• Exposure to having dealt with automotive product support issues.
• VW product knowledge is an advantage
• Present a structured thinking approach with sound problem-solving abilities 
• Logical visual and spatial thinking skills
• Organized and methodical approach to tasks
• High level of detail consciousness/ accuracy
• Lateral and analytical thinking ability.
• Display all round ability in process and maintaining computer related systems.
• Exhibit a solution-oriented approach and be able to operate effectively under pressure to meet set deadlines.
