LOCATION: SPINTEX ROAD, ACCRA

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety of staff and the protection of the company’s assets whiles on duty. He reports to the Chief Security Guard and the Transport and Security Coordinator.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain watch over the company’s property and the community gate
• Secure premises and personnel by patrolling the premises and inspecting the building, equipment and access points
• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employee, visitors and other persons
• Guard against theft and maintain security of premises
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures and restraining trespassers
• Log registered numbers and time of all vehicles coming through the gate
• Check company owned cars for items being moved in and out and confirm with the waybill
• Open and close the gate to residents, workers and visitors to the community
• Speak to vehicle occupants coming in at night to know whom or where they are going to
• Respond to any security incident as and when required in a timely and professional manner
• Check in- coming and out-going vehicles and be vigilant and proactive to crime prevention at all times
• Maintain appropriate logs to advise management of potential security problems
• Report all suspicious incident / items, and challenge any untoward behavior
• Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.
• Warn persons of violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using force when necessary.
• Patrol by logging with the guard tour system without fail.

• Knowledge on the safe use of all tools and equipment as applicable

Required Skills or Experience

• A Senior High School Certificate (SSSCE/WASSCE)
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
