Our client, a Travel and Tours management company with expertise in providing corporate and private tours is seeking to hire an experienced and efficient Senior Tour Planner. 

Role Profile
The selected candidate will be responsible for creating interesting travel programs for business and leisure travellers.

Key Responsibilities

• Create interesting travel programs for business and leisure travelers.
• Create tour programs and modify itineraries where necessary based on travelers’ requests.
• Staying current with trends in travel and tourism including entry requirements throughout West Africa.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers including accommodation, ground transportation and airlines.
• Professionally handle unforeseen issues and proactively provide satisfactory resolution.
• Flights booking and reservation
• Other roles as assigned

Required Skills or Experience

• Degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience with a reputable Travel Company with at least 4 years’ experience in tour planning
• IATA Consultancy or Management certification is an advantage.
• Experience in creating travel programs in other African countries is an advantage

Skills and Abilities

• Experience in using Global Distribution System (GDS; Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo)
• Experience in creating tour itinerary and tour costing. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
• Well versed in various areas of travel including (group tours and ticketing)
• Proficiency with computers including Writing programs such as Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Professionally versatile in the Travel and Tourism industry with knowledge of operations
• Excellent Customers Service Skills Excellent People management skills
• Excellent Negotiation skills
