Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE
The incumbent is expected to achieve the given sales target by serving as a resource in the area of technical or professional expertise to clients/customers. He/she will also work to increase PPA’s profitable clientele base by contacting existing and prospective customers via telephone/face-to-face/ e-mail in a professional way. He/she will also Identify technology and/or areas of expertise that could provide competitive advantage.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and Maintain product knowledge to support clients effectively
  • Build effective relationships with the clients 
  • Coordinate with other teams like the marketing team to develop and implement plans for product marketing campaigns
  • Perform day-to-day sales administration 
  • Achieve sales targets as per the performance contract
  • Develop sales and business plans for assigned territory
  • Satisfy vendor requirements such as creating and submitting monthly reports amongst others
  • Promote or apply innovative ideas and training to enhance business results 
  • Ensure a level of customer service that is differentiated from the competition
  • Seek frank customer feedback and work to surface issues via ongoing personal contact
  • Act as the consultant to the market segment within which he/she operates
  • Maintain awareness of competitors’ solutions and market position
  • Understand unique regional business dynamics (e.g., market needs, marketing practices, labor practices, legal issues)
  • Create strategies to balance short-term requirements with long-range business plans
  • Cultivate networks with people across a variety of functions and locations
  • Tour the sales floor regularly, engage customers, and identify or resolve urgent issues.
  • Supervise and motivate the Kumasi team to increase sales and ensure efficiency.
  • Must uphold the Quality Management System (QMS) and work in conformance with the roles as specified in the Departmental Manual.
Quality Management System Responsibilities
  • Conduct quarterly reviews of processes to ensure processes are delivering their intended outputs.
  • Ensure all assigned non-conformances are adequately addressed and corrected.
  • Report on opportunities for improvement of the Quality Management System
  • Ensuring the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization
OHSE Responsibilities
  • Identify departmental Process Risks and Opportunities
  • Conduct a quarterly review of the HSE risk profile.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of actions to achieve OHSE departmental objectives
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of actions to address departmental OHSE risk
  • Address hazards assigned to the department

Required Skills or Experience

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE 
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the following areas: Engineering, Business, Marketing, and Social Sciences 
  • At least two (2) years of experience in Sales. 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Able to learn, understand, and explain basic and complex engineering concepts and solutions
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to build and maintain strong relationships 
  • Resilient and able to follow through on difficult initiatives
  • Able to champion new ideas and initiatives
  • Holds self-accountable for achieving goals and meeting commitments.
