Job Description

A reputable manufacturing company is looking to employ a qualified Welder:

Job Purpose
Fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment through the use of cutters, shapers and other measuring tools

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts.
Weld small and large components such as copper plumbing, beams, and pipelines.
Use specialized machinery for industrial welding and oversee machines that perform the same job.
Maintain and repair all machinery.
Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors.
Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.

Required Skills or Experience

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

Three years' welding experience or Completion of a three year technical training program in welding.
Any equivalent combination of experience or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities of welding works have been achieved.

TECHNICAL

Knowledge of related tools, steel-bending techniques, equipment and materials to be used
Skills in the construction, alteration, repair, and maintenance of steel structures and surfaces.
Excellent communication skills
Ability to promote the company’s brand image onsite
Ability to make innovations, which affect this job and suggest changes to the immediate supervisor that is necessary to ensure efficiency and meeting of set goals
Ability to solve problems
Ability to manage time effectively and multi-task

PERSONALITY

Ability to apply logical and critical thinking skills to steel bending
Great written and verbal communication skills.
A willingness to learn.
