Responsibilities

• Develop, customise , and maintain WordPress themes and plugins according to project requirements.
• Collaborate with designers and other developers to implement website features and functionality.
• Optimise websites for speed, performance, and mobile responsiveness.
• Perform regular security audits and updates on WordPress websites to ensure data integrity and protection.
• Troubleshoot and debug website issues, and provide timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with content creators to ensure seamless integration of content with WordPress websites.
• Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance to ensure cross-browser compatibility and optimal user experience.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest WordPress updates, trends, and best practices in web development  
• Assist in website migration and domain setup activities as needed.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients and internal teams as required.

Required Skills or Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven work experience as a WordPress Developer or similar role.
• Solid understanding of web development principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with graphic design concepts and tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of server management and hosting environments is beneficial.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
• Strong problem-solving, organisational, and analytical skills.

Skills

• Proven experience as a WordPress Developer or similar role, with a strong portfolio of WordPress websites.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP.
• In-depth knowledge of WordPress CMS, themes, and plugins, and the ability to customise and enhance their functionality.
• Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
• Familiarity with front-end development frameworks, such as Bootstrap or Foundation.
• Understanding of SEO best practices and the ability to apply them to website development.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve issues.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet project deadlines.
• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Ability to stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.
