Job Description

1. On-Air Presentation: Regularly report on air, describing events and issues of significance, and providing in-depth analysis to enhance the understanding of listeners, and also presenting news bulletins.
2. Competitive Edge: Recognise news issues of significance and take immediate and efective action to ensure appropriate level or coverage and reportage.
3. Editing: Ensure that all materials including reports and audio clips are edited to meet professional quality standards before broadcast
4. Accuracy and Timeliness: Ensure Accuracy of stories by double-checking facts and timely broadcast of reports.
5. Interviewing: Prepare interview questions and conducting live and pre-recorded interviews.
6. Production: Be part of the news production team

Required Skills or Experience

• Bachelor's degree in media studies, broadcasting or a related field.
• A master's degree is preferred
• Journalist with at least fifteen (15) years' experience in breaking exclusive news stories.
• Strong news sense and interest in the media sector.
• Some experience in investigative journalism and/or writing long-form analysis pieces
• Well organized and able to work to tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and decision-making skill.
• Proven writing ablity.
• Evidence of successfully managing people would be an advantage
• Proven experience in television content management, acquisition and programming
• Strong understanding of the television industry, including market trends and competitive landscape
