Job Description

Job Purpose
The Bullion Analysis Technician will perform laboratory works, specifically conduct precise and reliable bullion analysis and testing at the Assay Laboratory.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Familiar with relevant testing procedures and reagents.
- to ensure the standardization of relevant testing standards, test methods and test procedures.
- Be familiar with the risk assessment and safety operating procedures for bullion analysis, be alert to potential risks, and take timely measures to eliminate safety risks. Properly handle and dispose of waste generated during the analysis to protect the environment.
- Ensure that the test report is issued objectively, accurately, clearly and completely, and implement effective quality control over the standardization, preparation, information to be covered, issuance, archiving and other aspects of the report.
- Manage and keep the report related results and information confidential.
- Performs any other related duties based on the exigencies of the Company as assigned by the Supervisor.
Required Skills or Experience
Minimum qualification (s)
- Degree/Higher National Diploma in Chemistry, Metallurgy, Material Science or equivalent in relevant discipline.
- Minerals Commission Processing Technician Certificate of Competency is desirable.
- Certificate or training in industrial analysis, analytical chemistry is desirable.
Experience (Minimum)
- 3 years working experience as Bullion Analysis Technician or similar role in gold mineral processing.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience performing various laboratory tests in a gold mining environment.
Knowledge (In-depth)
- Familiar with various chemical analysis methods and operating procedures, with experimental operation ability and data analysis ability.
- Familiar with the methods and principles of bullion analysis and have solid knowledge of chemical analysis and instrumental analysis.
- Have the knowledge and ability to perform routine maintenance and upkeep of analytical instruments.
Skills
- Accurate determination of gold and silver content by using bullion analysis.
- Familiar with relevant testing standards, testing methods and testing procedures.
- Understand the equipment maintenance and regular verification/calibration regulations, know the status of the equipment.
- Familiar with records, reports and verification procedures.
Leadership and behavioural attributes
- Good team playing and good observation skills.
- Ability to operate multiple assay lab equipment used for gold analysis with good
- problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform activities involving repetitive motion.
- Strong commitment to timelines, accuracy, and professionalism with good communication skills and coordinating ability.
- Close contact with test technology and understand the relevant test item limits.
