Job Description

Our client, a leader in engineering and planning consulting is currently looking to hire a proactive HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER to help in their operations in Ghana.

ROLE PROFILE

The successful person will be performing HR-related duties on a professional level, supporting operating units, by developing policies and program that support employee growth and development managing every aspect of the organization’s HR functional areas.

DUTIES

HUMAN RESOURCE

  • Administer various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
  • Developing, implementing and managing appraisal process and ensuring follow ups.
  •  Structuring communication processes within the organization.
  • Developing and implementing organizational structure in line with company goal.
  • Developing, implementing and managing HR strategy in line with overall organizational strategy.
  • Developing and delivering recruitment process.
  • Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plan.
  • Implementing HR processes to ensure efficient delivery of services and assists in operational execution.
  • Supporting organizational training and development activities within the unit to strengthen skills & knowledge level

ADMINISTRATION

  • Providing reliable data for payroll processing
  • Designing & /or distributing related documents: payroll slips, attestations
  • Maintaining strong and reliable Files of Personnel.
  • Gathering complex colleague issues in client group (e.g., grievances, discipline) and ensuring prompt resolution.

    • Recruitment / departures files follow-up

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

  • Ensuring planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results, working with line managers to coach and discipline employees.
  • Hearing and resolving employee grievances, counseling employees and supervisors.
  • Maintaining employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

  • Assessing key business objective and develop learning strategies accordingly
  • Reviewing and/or amending training programs to be delivered to all operation hotel departments
  • Devising departmental orientation and monitor on the job training
  • Identifying training needs and competency gaps so as to design, develop and implement learning & development plans and to determine core skills training to enhance the competency levels.
  • Liaising with relevant organizations/regulators  in relation to training requirements
  • Implementing training schedules

Required Skills or Experience

EDUCATION

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resource

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience playing similar role.
  • Previous work with a medium-to-large company is a plus.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITY REQUIREMENT

  • Applicant must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must have managerial organizational and decision-making ability.
  • Must be efficient with the use of computer software; word processing and spreadsheet.
  • Ability quickly to learn new software.

REQUIREMENT

  • Must be a proactive person, eager to work with a diverse team.
  • Good presentation, administration and strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken
  • In depth knowledge of Ghana Labour Laws
  • Possess good problem-solving and conflict resolution skill
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Good organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Good computer skills, somebody with an interest to learn new software
  • Must be a good team player

Ability to make decisions, will be expected to take tough decisions
