Job Description

S/he will manage financial entries and transactions including the closing of the books, general ledger updates and review the reporting of monthly accounting activities associated with the business.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
• Ensure an accurate and timely monthly and year end close
• Ensure the accurate and timely processing of accounting transactions.
• Ensure the monthly and quarterly bank reconciliation activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Support budget and forecasting activities.
• Collaborate with the other departments to support overall department goals and objectives.
• Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
• Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
• Provide data to aid pricing of goods and special projects.
• Prepare monthly payroll and ensure filling of all related statutory returns
• Ensure stocks are well managed and stock taking done within relevant intervals.

Required Skills or Experience

• Minimum of First Degree or Higher National Diploma in Accounting, part professional accounting qualification is an added advantage.
• At least 4 years working experience in the FMCG environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint presentation, etc
• Proficiency in the use of recognised accounting software
• Ability to work with a team and work without supervision
• Must demonstrate trustworthiness and integrity
