Job Description

Plantations Socfinaf Ghana (PSG) Limited wishes to inform all qualified and interested candidates about a vacant Community Relations Superintendent position in the Sustainability Department

  • Job Location: PSG - Daboase                                               
  • Reporting To: Sustainability Manager

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning, implementing, managing and monitoring Company’s social activities.
  • Preparing of annual budget for the Department.
  • Monitoring and submitting monthly report on both physical and financial performance of the Department.
  • Engage the communities within the operational area by taking note of their request and addressing them after consultation and approval from the Managing Director.
  • Ensure that Social Responsibility Agreement with the Communities is implemented and then prompt Management when it is time to review it.
  • Keep a database for all stakeholders.
  • Ensure that Operating Procedures in the form of Stakeholders Engagement Plan, External Compliant and Grievance (SOP), Land Acquisition and Compensation (SOP), Free Prior Informed Consent (FPIC) are all adhered to.
  • Liaise with relevant Departments of PSG in the implementation of RSPO protocols.
  • Sensitize the communities on the current COVID-19 pandemic protocols so that the initiatives taken by PSG are not crippled within the communities.
  • Carry out any other job or assignment that will be given by the Head of Department.
  • Liaise with the Admin/HR Department so that local people who are qualified and medically fit are given first option for available jobs.

Required Skills or Experience

  • The successful applicant must possess at least, a Degree in Social Sciences or its equivalent
  • A minimum 7 - 10 years’ experience in Social Work/Community Development Practice with a Comprehensive understanding of the Agricultural Industry.

Skills and Competencies

  • Computer Literate.
  • Command of English Language and Local language (Twi, Wassa, Fante, etc.).
  • Good communication skills.
  • Team Player.
  • Understanding the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Familiar with culture and customs of the people in the Company’s catchment area.
  • Familiar with Community’s needs assessment.
