Job Description

A private school is seeking a dedicated and experienced Science Teacher to teach Upper Primary and Junior High School students. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of the GES curriculum, a passion for science education, and the ability to make learning engaging, practical, and relevant.

We are looking for a professional who is confident in classroom delivery, organized in lesson planning and assessment, and committed to nurturing students in both academic excellence and character development.

Key Responsibilities
1. Curriculum Delivery & Lesson Planning

• Develop engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that stimulate interest and understanding
• Use a variety of teaching strategies and experiments to bring science concepts to life

2. Student Assessment & Academic Support

• Administer classwork, homework, and exams in accordance with curiculum standards
• Monitor student performance and provide timely feedback and support
• Prepare students for BECE

3. Classroom Management & Learning Environment

• Maintain a well-organized, respectful, and supportive classroom environment
• Promote critical thinking, curiosity, and teamwork among students

4. Professional Conduct & Collaboration

• Participate actively in staff meetings, trainings, and school events
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support student learning

Required Skills or Experience

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ teaching experience in Science at the Upper Primary and/or JHS level
• Strong understanding of the  Science curriculum and assessment frameworks
• A Bachelor's degree in Science Education or a related field 
• Good classroom management skills
• Proven ability to engage students of varying learning styles
