Our client, a reputable construction firm is seeking to hire a dynamic EQUIPMENT MECHANIC with a proven record to support their operations in Ghana.

ROLE PROFILE

Selected candidate will be responsible for repairs and servicing of many kinds of machines including bulldozers, earthmovers, tractors, paving machines, pile drivers, cranes, and concrete mixers etc.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze malfunctions and repairs, rebuild and maintain construction equipment, such as cranes, power shovels, scrapers, paving machines, motor graders, trench-digging machines, conveyors, bulldozers, dredges, pumps, compressors and pneumatic tools
• Dismantle and reassemble equipment using hoists and hand tools.
• Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometres and gauges.
• Replace defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmissions.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications
• Clean lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
• Welds broken parts and structural members.
• Service attachments and working tools such as blades, ploughs, winches and side booms
• Report damaged or faulty equipment to management.

Required Skills or Experience

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

• Degree/HND/ NVTI in construction/mechanical engineering or equivalent
• NVTI Certification is a plus
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in construction or mechanical engineering

REQUIREMENT

• Understanding of computer testing technologies.
• Ability to lift heavy machinery.
• Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment.
• Ability to work after-hours if required.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment
• A positive attitude with a proven positive work ethic
