Job Description

• Supervising underground mining activities to ensure efficiency and productivity.
• Enforcing all underground safety regulations and procedures.
• Conducting pre-shift safety briefings and toolbox talks.
• Communicating with mine managers, engineer and other departments regarding progress and challenges.
• Providing detailed shift handover reports to the supervisor.
• Assigning tasks to miners, operators, and other workers based on shift plans.
• Monitoring drilling, blasting, haulage, and ground support activities.
• Ensuring proper ore extraction and waste handling according to mine plans.
• Coordinating with engineers and geologists to optimize production.
• Leading and motivating the underground workforce to maintain high performance.
• Managing workforce scheduling, attendance, and performing evaluations.
• Managing materials, explosives, and other resources needed for underground operations.
• Complete various daily, weekly, monthly reports as required.
• Participate in safety meetings and contribute to a safe work environment.
• Be open to learning new methods and be willing to share your skills and knowledge with co-work-ers
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping in the shop and at job sites
• Ensure safety by adhering to all mining safety protocols and using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents.

Required Skills or Experience

• Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving and operating licenses (C & E Classes) and able to drive man-ual SUV underground.
• Must possess Minerals Commission (MINCOM) Certification.
• Ability to influence and engage with operational and non-operational employees and contractors with strong demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be conversant with the Mining Act and related regulations of the Republic of Ghana
• Ability to learn new tasks quickly as well as train, coach, and mentor crew members.
• Strong sense of urgency and outcomes focused
• Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
• Ability to work both day and night.
