Job Purpose
The Energy Analyst (Fuel & Electricity) will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing the company’s energy consumption and fuel use across all operational sites. This includes tracking electricity usage, fuel consumption, cost trends, efficiency metrics, and proposing solutions to improve energy performance, reduce waste, and manage costs effectively.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Monitoring & Analysis
- Track daily, weekly, and monthly electricity and fuel consumption across all towers/sites.
- Analyze trends and identify abnormalities in energy usage.
- Maintain up-to-date records of utility bills, diesel usage, and generator performance.
2. Reporting
- Prepare regular reports on energy consumption, cost per site, and generator fuel efficiency.
- Develop dashboards and summaries for management decision-making.
- Present insights and recommendations to reduce energy costs and optimize supply.
3. Vendor & Utility Coordination
- Liaise with utility companies (e.g., ECG, NEDCo) for billing issues, new connections, and maintenance.
- Monitor and verify diesel deliveries and ensure alignment with actual consumption.
4. Optimization & Strategy
- Recommend cost-saving initiatives in electricity usage and generator operation.
- Collaborate with the technical team on solar or hybrid solutions feasibility and implementation.
- Support the transition to sustainable energy alternatives where applicable.
5. Compliance & Standards
- Ensure adherence to company energy policies and national energy regulations.
- Conduct internal audits on energy usage and report on compliance levels.
Required Skills or Experience
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, Statistics, or related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in energy analysis, utilities monitoring, or related roles.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel; experience with Power BI, Google Sheets, or ERP systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of Ghana’s energy sector, utility billing systems, and fuel logistics is preferred.
