2 Field Trainers (1 for organic vegetable production and 1 for organic livestock production under the LEEWYV Project)

Job Title: Field trainer for organic vegetable production (A)

Report to: Project Assistant

The Task for the successful candidates includes but not limited to

• Monitor all crop-related activities across our mentor farms
• Organizing and delivering tailored training in organic agriculture in vegetable production for our mentor farmers
• Provide technical backstopping for our mentor farmers in vegetable production under greenhouse
• Provide technical backstopping for our mentor farmers in open field cultivation
• Assist and supervise mentor farmers in organizing practical demonstrating on the mentor farm.
  • Train mentor farmers in practical application of the topics provided
• Monitor and evaluate mentor farmers during and after training
• Prepare and present a weekly report on activities carried out.
  • Carry out other activities as may be directed by Program Manager.

Job Title: Field trainer for organic livestock production (B)

Report to: Project Assistant

The Task for the successful candidates includes but not limited to

• Monitor all livestock-related activities across our mentor farms
• Organizing and delivering tailored training in organic livestock production for our mentor farmers
• Training of mentor farmers in intensive poultry and pig production
• Training of mentor farmers in non-traditional livestock production
• Provide technical backstopping for mentors farmers during field demonstrations
• Assist and supervise mentor farmers in organizing practical demonstrating on the mentor farm
  • Train mentor farmers in practical application of the topics provided
• Monitor and evaluate mentor farmers during and after training
• Prepare and present a weekly report on activities carried out
  • Carry out other activities as may be directed by Program manager

Required Skills or Experience

Requirements (Crop production candidate) A

The candidate should:

• Have proven work experience in practical agriculture,
• Have hands-on experience in vegetable production under greenhouse
• Be familiar with the concept of organic agriculture
• Be knowledgeable in vegetable production
• Be able to communicate in both English and Twi
• Have good communication skills in both written and oral form
• Be able to perform basic computer tasks
• Have a diploma or least certificate in agriculture from an accredited institution

Requirements (candidate for organic livestock production) B

The candidate should:

• Have proven work experience in the practical agriculture
• Be familiar with the concept of organic agriculture
• Have hands-on experience in animal production
• Be knowledgeable in poultry and pig production
• Be knowledgeable in non-traditional livestock production
• Be able to communicate in both English and Twi
• Have good communication skills in both written and oral form
• Must have at least certificate or diploma in agriculture from any accredited institutions
• Be able to perform basic computer tasks
