Job Description

• Job Title: Quality Control Officer
• Department: Quality
• Reports To: QA Manager
• Location: Onsite at HPW Fresh and Dry Ltd, Adeiso, E/R.

• Shall oversee the required lab analysis for the dry fruit processing facility with an emphasis on microbiological swabs and ATP monitoring. 
• Shall also carry out physio-chemical analysis of the products in the lab and works on quality and hygiene issues in the production floor.

• Check every arrival of fruit for quality against raw material specifications at intake and submit reports after checking.
• Check processing quality and complete quality control form at cutting.
• Ensure daily calibration and verification of all equipment in the laboratory and the factory.
• Conduct quality control on pallets as per pallet control procedure.
• Report any non-conformity detected in relation to Food Safety Management System (HACCP/BRC) to the QA Manager.
• Report immediately any nonconformity on product quality detected to the QA Manager
• Manage and maintain the Laboratory and all equipment in the laboratory.
• Submit an inventory of the equipment and report on their status every two weeks.
• Report immediately to the QA Manager broken or malfunctioning equipment.
• Ensure samples for analyses are properly taken for every processing code.
• Conduct and supervise laboratory analysis on every sample,processing code and other analysis required. Reports are to be submitted within 24hrs after production.
• Monitor chemical inputs, especially for Sodium Metabisulfite, citric acid and ascorbic acids during reception and use for preservation. Evaluation report for input should be submitted within 24hrs after reception of input and any anomalies detected.
• Check and monitor the buffer capacity of the biogas digesters on daily basis and submit reports daily to your manager.
• Keep a controlled stock for chemical and reagents for the laboratory.
• Any other duties assigned

• Minimum of HND, Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in Science Laboratory Technology, Food Science or related field.
