Our client, a reputable construction company is looking to hire an experienced Heavy-Duty Drivers to support their operations in Ghana.

ROLE PROFILE

Selected candidate will be responsible for transporting goods from one place to another using heavy or tractor-trailer trucks.

He/She will be responsible for Keeping records of materials and products transported.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver goods via a heavy truck, sometimes over intercity.
• Load and unload cargo.
• Take orders for new delivers.
• Drive long distances.
• Fill up on fuel, clean truck, and wash windows.
• Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
• Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion.
• Follow all applicable traffic laws.
• Inspect trailer before and after the trip, and record any defects they find.
• Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
• Keep a log for all activities.
• Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
• Keep track, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order.
• Plan routes using maps or satellite tracking.
• Get goods to the client on time.
• Take special precautions while driving.

Required Skills or Experience

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

• Minimum qualification of Senior High School Certificate/HND in Mechanical engineering preferred.

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.

REQUIREMENT

• Adequate knowledge in the structure of Heavy duties.
• Ability to speak, understand and write the English language
• Possess Valid driver’s license
• Enthusiastic, dynamic and self-motivated.
• Willing to work at odd hours during peak working seasons.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Positive attitude towards work.
• Must be physically fit.
• Should be reliable and punctual.
• Have a mature working attitude.
• Friendly and presentable.
