Job Description

  • Reports To: Managing Partner
Job Summary
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial health of the consulting firm. This includes managing budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning. The role requires a strong understanding of consulting business models, client billing, project profitability, and financial risk management.
 
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to senior management.
  • Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs.
2. Financial Reporting
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Present financial reports to leadership and stakeholders.
3. Cash Flow & Treasury Management
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital.
  • Manage banking relationships and optimize treasury operations.
4. Cost Control & Profitability
  • Analyze project profitability and recommend pricing strategies.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.
5. Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure tax compliance and liaise with auditors and tax authorities.
  • Maintain internal controls and risk management frameworks.
6. Team Leadership
  • Supervise and mentor finance team and administration members.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
7. Strategic Support
  • Support business development with financial modeling and pricing.
  • Participate in strategic planning and investment decisions.

Required Skills or Experience

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CFA) preferred.
  • Master’s degree (e.g., MBA) is an advantage.
Experience
  • 5–8 years of progressive experience in finance, preferably in a consulting or professional services environment.
  • Proven track record in financial planning, reporting, and team leadership.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
